Standwell Back

Standwell Back is a two-storey set of rooms for one or two people, with its own private entrance, in 19 acres of countryside about 2 miles from Sherborne. The owners use two ground-floor rooms of the annexe, which they reach separately.

The kitchen/diner is downstairs and has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. The washing machine is under the stairs. A staircase leads to the first floor, which is set into the eaves, so head height is restricted in places. Upstairs are a compact lounge with a Smart TV and a double bedroom with skylights on three sides. There is also a shower room.

There is no private garden. A bistro table and chairs stand outside the front door, other benches and tables sit under the trees, and guests are welcome to walk the fields. Gated parking holds two cars. CCTV covers the access gate, the front door of the property and the main house.

One dog is allowed, with additional charges, and must not go off the lead in the gardens without supervision, as the wider grounds are enclosed by an electric fence. Babes in arms are welcome, but no stairgate, travel cot or highchair is supplied. The shop and pub are 2 miles away and the beach is 20 miles. It suits a solo traveller or a couple who want a quiet base.
