Stonehaven

Stonehaven is a detached stone-built house in the village of Corscombe, Dorset, near Beaminster. A sloping drive leads up to it, and external steps climb to the front door. It sleeps eight.

The entrance hall has the lounge on one side, with a feature fireplace that is not in use and a Smart TV, and a kitchen with a central island and a gas range-style cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge with ice compartment on the other. At the rear are the dining room, a super-king-size bedroom, a king-size bedroom and the bathroom, which has a spa bath, a separate shower and a WC. Upstairs, under the eaves, are a double bedroom, a twin that can be made into a super-king on request, and a shower room.

The side yard, reached through the kitchen, leads to an outdoor utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. The garden at the back is split-level, with a patio beside the house, lawn, flower beds and a gas BBQ. It also has an unenclosed pond and changes of level, so children and pets need watching. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, and a stairgate is available.

Off-road parking is for 4 cars. Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply, but not upstairs. The shop is 3.5 miles away, the pub is within walking distance and the beach is 9 miles. It suits two families or a group of friends who want a village base with room for several cars.
