The Old Cheesehouse

The Old Cheesehouse is a house for six within walking distance of the centre of Beaminster, with fields and woodland around it and shops and pubs within 1 mile. You open the door from the lane into an upper ground floor hallway, which leads to a twin bedroom. A short flight of stairs rises to a super-king-size bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and a mezzanine reading nook or office in the eaves overlooks the lounge.

Downstairs are a snug with a sofa, a second twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and a separate shower room that suits the twin on the upper floor. The east-facing kitchen and dining area has a central island, a Rayburn that is available from October to Easter, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The lounge next to it has a vaulted ceiling, a Smart TV and a wood burner, with the first basket of logs included. A travel cot and highchair are available.

A raised terrace leads down to a lawn, and a stream runs through the split-level, enclosed garden, crossed by a bridge. There is a patio with outdoor furniture beside it. Take care with young children and pets near the water. Off-road parking is for 2 cars.

Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The beach is 9 miles away. The house suits a family or two couples who want fields and a stream outside and the town within easy reach.
