Sunbird Cottage

Sunbird Cottage is a lodge on an estate at Crossways, near Dorchester and close to Warmwell, within easy walking distance of the spa and swimming pool. The open-plan living area has triple-aspect windows, two double sofas, an armchair, a TV and a wood burner, with a first basket of logs supplied. The kitchen has an induction hob, an electric oven, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, plus a breakfast-bar peninsula with two stools. A six-person dining table stands in the middle.

Upstairs, a landing with a vaulted ceiling and two skylight windows leads to three bedrooms. The king-size has an en-suite shower room, the double is a restful room, and the bunk room is themed for children, with extra-wide beds, a small table and chairs and a fitted wardrobe. The family bathroom has a shower over the bath.

Outside, the decked patio faces south, with seating for four and a charcoal BBQ. Parking is for one car beside the lodge, with more cars in the main car park. The shop and pub are 0.5 miles away, and the beach is 6.5 miles.

Up to three dogs are welcome, with additional charges that may apply. The estate's spa has a heated outside swimming pool, a sauna and a cold plunge, and there are water sports, mountain biking and fishing. Equipment hire runs from Easter to October half-term, and some sessions must be booked in advance and may be charged. Access to the pool and spa is payable on arrival, and a refundable security deposit is paid direct to the site. The lodge suits a family of up to six who want to walk to the pool.
