Sunset View

Sunset View is a fifth-floor apartment on the edge of Castletown, on the Isle of Portland, with sea views and a view of Portland Castle at the water's edge. A lift serves the fifth floor, but it should not be relied on alone in case of a maintenance problem, so be ready to use the stairs. The open-plan living space holds a kitchen, a dining area for four and a sitting area that leads onto the balcony.

Both bedrooms are doubles, and one has an en-suite with a walk-in shower, a basin, a heated towel rail and a WC. A bathroom with a bath, a shower over, a basin and a heated towel rail serves the other. The balcony is private, furnished, and reached from both bedrooms as well as the living space. A travel cot and a highchair can be provided.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, and the apartment has a TV and WiFi. Central heating is fitted, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Parking is for one car in a car parking area. Portland Marina is 0.25 miles away, the shop and pub 0.3 miles and the beach 0.7 miles.

In June, July and August the apartment accepts seven-night stays only; shorter stays need to be checked with the owner first. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am, and pets and smoking are not allowed. It suits two couples, or a family of four, who want a balcony outlook over the water.
