The Apple Shed, Motcombe, Shaftesbury

The Apple Shed is a one-bedroom cottage in the middle of a row of three at East Coppleridge Farm, on the rural edge of Motcombe and three miles from Shaftesbury. The living space is a single vaulted room holding the kitchen, dining area and sitting area, with gas central heating throughout.

The double bedroom has its own en-suite shower room with a shower, basin and WC, so the cottage sleeps two. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge with an ice box. Guests also get a TV with Freeview, WiFi, and a selection of books and games. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

At the front there is a gravel garden with a picnic bench, and off-road parking for one car. The Coppleridge Inn is a two-minute stroll across the lane, and the village shop is eight minutes on foot. One well-behaved pet is welcome, and smoking is not allowed. Note that there are steps to the cottage.

Only one booking a week is taken, with changeover on Friday, so a short stay cannot straddle a Friday. The cottage suits a couple who want a quiet base with a pub close by, rather than a group or a family.
