The Old Shop Bourton

The Old Shop is a single-storey cottage in Bourton, a village in North Dorset close to Gillingham and within reach of Motcombe. It sleeps two, in one king-size bedroom with a bay window onto the front, and has a bathroom with a rainfall shower and WC. Guests come in by a set of external steps, which is worth knowing before booking.

The front door opens straight into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area with a high ceiling. A wood burner heats it, with the first basket of logs supplied and more available at extra cost, and the whole cottage has underfloor heating. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher, the dining table seats four, and there is a Smart TV. A travel cot and highchair can be requested.

Patio doors lead from the living area to a private patio garden at the back, with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ. There is ample roadside parking. A shop and a pub are within walking distance, while the beach is within 40 miles.

No dogs are accepted. The Old Shop suits a couple who want a village base with a wood burner, and who don't mind driving to reach the coast.
