The Barn

The Barn is a detached, single-storey conversion beside the owner's farmhouse on a working sheep and cattle farm at Chedington, near Beaminster. Everything is on the ground floor. The king-size double has doors out to the patio, the second bedroom is a twin, and a shower room with a walk-in shower serves both.

The sitting room is built around a woodburning stove, and the rent includes fuel, power and a starter pack for it. The kitchen has a dining area, an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. There is a TV with Freeview and a DVD player, WiFi, and a selection of books and games. A travel cot and highchair can be provided on request.

The patio is small, enclosed and furnished, and it sits next to the farmyard, so expect farm smells and sounds, and often cows with calves in view. The water comes from a natural spring that is tested regularly. Off-road parking takes two cars. There is no EV charging at the property. Pets and smoking are not allowed. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. The pub is an eight-minute walk away, and the nearest shop is 3 miles. It suits a couple or a small family who want one-floor living on a farm.
