The Cabin - Chideock

The Cabin is a single-storey former whaler's cottage in Chideock, dating from the early 1900s and since extended. It stands on a quiet lane that runs down to the sea, next to the owner's home, and Seatown beach is 0.75 miles away. It sleeps 3 and has two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

Inside, the kitchen and dining room have a vaulted ceiling and a wooden floor, and the sitting room has a wood burner, a Smart TV and double-aspect windows. Logs, firelighters and matches are supplied, with a wood store opposite the front door. The kitchen has a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and an electric oven and hob. The main bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has a small double bed, and its en-suite has a roll-top bath.

French doors from the kitchen open onto an enclosed rear garden with seating, a BBQ and countryside views, with an upper terrace reached by steps. A summer house at the front has a table-top freezer. Parking is private for one car. The pub is 100 metres away, the shop 350 metres, and Bridport 2.5 miles.

There is a step up to the front door, a small step into the main bedroom and three steps from the garden path up to the summer house. Children under 12 are not accepted. Two dogs are allowed, with an additional charge possible. It suits a couple, or a couple with a friend, who want a quiet base close to the beach and pub.
