Hope Cottage - Chideock

Hope Cottage is a stone-built cottage in Chideock, on the main A35 between Bridport, 2.5 miles away, and Charmouth, 4 miles away. It sleeps 4 in two first-floor bedrooms, a double that looks onto the rear garden and a twin, with a family bathroom beside them that has a shower over the bath. There are 2 steps up and down into the double bedroom.

The living room has a wood burner, with the first basket of logs supplied from September to March, and a Smart TV, DVDs, games and books. The kitchen and dining room has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine, and looks onto the garden. Heating comes from an air source heat pump. A highchair and travel cot are available on request, and guests bring their own cot linen.

The enclosed rear garden can be reached from the kitchen or by a path along the side, and has a patio with garden furniture, flowers, shrubs and organically grown herbs. Parking is in the car park opposite, next to the local shop, for a daily charge. The road outside is the A35, and a crossing is nearby. The shop is 100 metres away, the pub 200 metres and the beach 1 mile.

Two dogs are allowed, with an additional charge possible. It suits a couple or small family who want a village base and can manage without a car on the doorstep.
