Mallards Barn

Mallards Barn stands on the quiet lane that runs to the coast at Seatown, near Chideock, and the shingle beach and coastal walks are 1 mile away. Three steps lead up to a stable door that opens into the double-aspect lounge and dining room. It sleeps 4 in a double and a twin.

The lounge end has leather sofas, a coffee table, a Smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker, and the dining end has a pine farmhouse table. The kitchen has a gas oven and hob, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a microwave. The only bathroom is the shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs, both bedrooms have reduced height in the eaves: the double has an exposed beam and a wrought-iron bed, and the twin has a slanted ceiling.

A private patio with furniture is outside. Parking is for one small car, and further parking is at the local shop, a couple of minutes' walk away, subject to availability and a fee. The shop and pubs are within walking distance. Guests with small children need to bring their own highchair, travel cot and stairgates.

Two dogs are allowed, with an additional charge possible. The barn can be booked together with the neighbouring property and its annexe for a group of up to 10. It suits two couples, or two adults with dogs, who are happy with a single shower room.
