Meadow Cottage - Chideock

Meadow Cottage is the last in a row of cottages on a quiet no-through lane in Chideock. The lane turns into a bridleway a few steps from the door, and that leads down to the beach, cliffs and pub at Seatown, under a mile from the sea. The cottage is booked for 4 and has three bedrooms upstairs: a king-size, a small double and a single.

Downstairs, the lounge and dining area has a Smart TV and an extendable table with seating for five. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, an espresso machine, a microwave and a washing machine, and a door from it opens onto the garden. Stairgates are provided. The bathroom upstairs has a bath with a shower over it and a full shower screen.

The stairs are steep and cottage-style, with a handrail. Because of the cottage's age there are some low doorways and rooms reached by steps, and the bathroom is one step up. The small double bed can only be reached from one side. At the back, an enclosed garden has a patio with a table and chairs. Parking is by the roadside on the village lane directly in front, for one car, and there is a car park at the local shop, a five-minute walk away, which has a small daily fee and is subject to availability.

One dog is allowed, with an additional charge possible. The shop, three pubs and the beach are all within walking distance. It suits a family or small group who are comfortable with steep stairs and want to walk to the coast from the front door.
