The Ferryman

The Ferryman is a character cottage on the harbourside in Weymouth, with views across the water from the street-level kitchen diner and the first-floor sitting room, and a lounge picture window that looks towards the bridge. Brewers Quay, with its restaurants and coffee houses, is a minute or two from the front door.

The kitchen diner and a cloakroom are on the ground floor. The first floor has the sitting room and a bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. The bedrooms are on the second floor and sleep five between them, and the stairs up to them are steep and narrow. The cottage has a dishwasher, a washing machine and dryer, a TV, WiFi and a book library.

Parking is on the street with a Zone L Hope Square permit, subject to availability, so a space cannot be guaranteed, and the permit expires on 20 May 2027, subject to availability and council renewal. For extra parking the nearest pay and display car park is the Nothe, a few minutes' walk away. Fayre in the Square at the late May bank holiday and the Wessex Folk Festival in early June close Hope Square to traffic.

Pets and smoking are not allowed. Fuel and power, bed linen and towels are covered by the rent. The cottage works for a family or friends sharing who want to watch the harbour from the window and manage steep stairs.
