The Gables

The Gables is part of Kellaway Court, a development on the old brewery site in the Brewers Quay area of Weymouth, and the harbour is a few minutes' walk away. A shop and a pub are 2 minutes from the door. The houses on the site keep many of their original features.

Four bedrooms sleep six. A single bedroom is on the ground floor, which also has a shower room, and the first floor has a double with an en-suite, a single and a twin, plus a bathroom with a bath and a hand-held shower. The sitting room with dining area opens into a large kitchen with an oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included, and a cot can be provided on request.

There is a patio outside and another inside, both with furniture. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. Parking is for one car only, in an electronically gated residents' area; large vehicles will not fit, and anything bigger than a medium-sized car must use a nearby pay-and-display car park, such as Nothe Car Park, a short walk away. Guests reach the front door by steps. Fayre in the Square, usually on the late May bank holiday weekend, and the Wessex Folk Festival, usually the first weekend of June, close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, with some road closures and parking restrictions.

It suits a family of up to six with a pair of dogs, particularly one that wants a bedroom on the ground floor.
