The Narrows

The Narrows is a Grade II-listed cottage built of Purbeck stone in the old part of Swanage. It sleeps six in three double bedrooms. The shop is 200 metres away, and the pub and the beach are 300 metres off.

The layout runs over three floors. You enter into the kitchen and breakfast room, and stairs from there lead up to one bedroom and the main bathroom, which has a roll-top claw-foot bath and a shower attachment. A few steps down, on the same floor, is the living area with a wood burner, a beamed vaulted ceiling and a dining area. More steps go down to the lower ground floor, where there are two more bedrooms, a shower room and a flagstone floor.

Outside is a private, enclosed gravel garden with a raised seating area, a table and chairs, and views across the Downs. The garden has many steps on different levels. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a slimline dishwasher, a fridge, a microwave and a washing machine, and there are two TVs.

The cottage has several steps inside and out, and low, sloping ceilings with exposed beams. Infants under 2 are not allowed. Parking is on the surrounding streets, and parking outside the property is limited to 1 hour. Up to two dogs are welcome, and additional charges may apply. It suits a group of adults or a family with older children who enjoy a house of many levels.
