The Old Cart Shed

Vaulted, beamed ceilings survive from the farm cart shed that The Old Cart Shed was converted from. The cottage sleeps six on the ground floor of the owner's farm, near Winterborne Stickland. The king-size double has an en-suite shower, basin and WC, and the two twin rooms share a family bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. Two low steps lead to the corridor serving the bedrooms and bathroom.

The sitting area has a woodburning stove with electric heating as back-up, and the kitchen and dining area share the same open-plan room. Cooking is on an electric oven and ceramic hob, with a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A TV with FreeSat, a DVD player, WiFi, books and games are provided. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included, and more fuel can be bought from the owner. Bed linen and towels come for each bed space, and a travel cot and highchair can be requested.

The cottage takes two well-behaved dogs, which must stay on a lead the whole time they are on the premises because of livestock nearby. Smoking is not allowed, and walkers on the footpaths and farm tracks are asked to avoid crops.

Outside, a lawn, patio and picnic bench sit within the enclosed private garden, with a larger shared lawn at the front and a shared games room holding a pool table, table football and air hockey. Parking is ample and off the road, bikes go in covered storage, and the EV charger runs through the Pod Point app. The pub is 1 mile away and the shop 5 miles. Best for a family or friends who want three ground-floor bedrooms and can manage two low steps.
