The Old Stables

The Old Stables is a single-storey former stable in a farm courtyard near the village of Winterborne Stickland. All three bedrooms are on the ground floor: a king-size double with an en-suite shower room, and two twins that share a bathroom with a bath and a shower over it. There is one low step into the corridor that serves the bedrooms and bathroom.

The main room is open plan, with the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area where a woodburning stove sits. The rent covers fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove, and more logs can be bought from the owner. Electric heating, an electric oven, a ceramic hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a TV with FreeSat, a DVD player and WiFi are provided, along with each bed space's hand and bath towels. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Outside is an enclosed private garden with a lawn, a patio and a picnic bench, plus a larger shared lawn at the front, and covered bike storage. Guests also use the courtyard's shared games room, which has a pool table, table football and air hockey. Parking is ample and off the road, and an EV charger is on site, billed through the Pod Point app. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but livestock is nearby, so they stay on a lead at all times on the premises. Smoking is not allowed. The nearest pub is 1 mile away and the shop 5 miles. It suits a family of up to six, or two couples, travelling with dogs.
