The Old Forge - Uploders

The Old Forge is a semi-detached stone cottage on a quiet lane in Uploders, a village near Bridport and not far from Shipton Gorge. It sleeps eight in four bedrooms: a super-king-size with an en-suite bathroom, a double with an en-suite shower room, a twin and a bunk room, the last two sharing the family bathroom. There is also a separate WC downstairs.

The ground floor is an L-shaped open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a 5-ring range, a double oven and a dishwasher, and the utility room has a washing machine. The main lounge area has a wood burner and a Smart TV, and logs are included from October to the end of April. There are also TVs with DVD players in the master bedroom and the second lounge, and a selection of books, games and DVDs. Wi-Fi is included, for email and web browsing only.

French doors lead to a patio with outdoor furniture and a private 7-seater hot tub. The terraced garden rises in split levels reached by flights of steps, which may not suit young children. Parking for two cars is outside on the village lane. The pub is 200 metres away and the shop is 2 miles away.

EV cars cannot be charged at the cottage, and stag and hen parties are not permitted. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. It suits a group of friends or an extended family, with dogs, who want a hot tub and eight beds.
