The Palms - Swanage

The Palms is a semi-detached house in Swanage, set in an elevated position, with the front door down a slope from the driveway. The steeply sloped driveway takes two cars, and further roadside parking is available when there is space. The beach, shops and pubs are all within walking distance.

The kitchen comes first, with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge with an ice compartment, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, plus a breakfast bar. Across the hallway, the lounge/diner has an electric log-burner-effect fire, a TV and DVD player, a dining space and doors to a balcony. Wi-Fi is included, as are electric and central heating.

Stairs rise to the first floor, where the bedrooms are: one double and two singles, with distant views of the Purbeck Hills. They share a bathroom with a shower over the bath, and a separate WC is next door. The rear garden is reached through a gate from the hallway. It is fully enclosed, mostly decked, and has furniture for eating outside.

Children under 3 are not accepted, and dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out before 10am. The house suits a family of four with children over 3, or a couple with two friends who want separate rooms, and who want a garden of their own with the shops and pubs on foot.
