Thornicks House

Thornicks House is a four-bedroom house in the Purbeck village of Winfrith Newburgh, near Moreton. It sleeps 6: a double, a twin and two singles, all upstairs. A single bathroom has a shower over the bath, and a separate WC sits beside the dining room.

The lounge has a wood burner, which is supplied with logs and coal free of charge from October to 30 April, while kindling and firelighters are not provided. There are also books to read. The kitchen is in the middle of the house and has a range cooker, an American-style fridge/freezer, a wine cooler, a dishwasher, a microwave and a washing machine. At one end is the dining room with a large table and at the other a garden room with a piano and French doors to the garden. A Sonos music system runs through the house.

The stairs to the first floor are steep and winding, rising from the dining room. Outside, a patio with a BBQ leads up steps to a sloping lawn with a second patio at the top. Parking is off-road for one car, with more available in the village. The pub and shop are 0.5 miles away on foot.

Children under 5 are not accepted, and dogs are not allowed. It suits a family with older children or three couples sharing, as long as everyone is comfortable on steep stairs.
