Two - Old Coombe Cottages

Two - Old Coombe Cottages is a semi-detached former barn in the farmyard of a working farm at Stoke Abbott, near Beaminster. A long driveway leads to it, and the fields around the farm hold highland cows and Portland sheep. It sleeps four.

You enter from the parking area up a couple of steps into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge/freezer and a microwave, and the lounge has a wood burner and a TV with a DVD player. An inner hallway leads to a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom, which has its own TV. Both use the one Jack and Jill bathroom, with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Directly outside the kitchen is a terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ. A few steps away is a large raised decked area with outdoor furniture, shared with the neighbouring cottage and looking over the owner's field. Washing machine and tumble dryer are in a shared utility room in an adjacent block, not in the cottage. Parking is off road for 2 cars. Smoking is not allowed.

Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply. Because of the steps up to the cottage and the decking, it does not suit anyone who cannot manage steps. The shop is 3 miles away, the pub 2 miles and the beach 6 miles. The cottage can also be booked alongside One - Old Coombe Cottages, subject to availability. It suits two couples or a family of four with up to two dogs.
