Vine Cottage

Vine Cottage is a 17th-century stone cottage in Burton Bradstock with two bedrooms and room for four. The open-plan living and dining room has exposed beams, wooden wall panelling, a stone fireplace with a flame-effect electric fire, and a window seat facing the front garden. The kitchen next door has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher and a Krups coffee maker with a first supply of pods.

A door off the sitting room opens onto the staircase, which is older and steeper than in newer houses, and several rooms have low ceilings and beams, so it is worth weighing up if anyone in your party finds stairs hard. Upstairs are the double bedroom and the twin, and the twin has its own cloakroom with a basin and WC and looks over the village to the hills. The shower room is on the ground floor, with a walk-in shower, a heated towel rail and a separate WC.

The enclosed south-facing garden has a patio, a lawn and furniture, and the rear courtyard garden has gates that close to keep dogs secure. Two well-behaved pets are welcome. Off-road parking takes two cars, one on the driveway and one under the carport, but electric vehicles cannot be charged here for insurance reasons. The shop is 0.2 miles away, the pub 0.1 miles and the beach 0.7 miles. Smoking is not allowed and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a couple or small family with a dog who are happy with a steep staircase.
