Acres Meadow

Acres Meadow is a pair of shepherd's huts in the village of Maiden Newton, set in a meadow that no other guests share. It sleeps four. One hut holds a double bed and bunk beds, and the other has a large walk-in shower, a toilet and a basin. Each hut has its own wood burner, and the meadow slopes down to the River Frome.

Cooking is limited. The sleeping hut has small kitchenette facilities with a kettle, a toaster and a small camping fridge, and cutlery, plates, glasses and mugs are provided. There is no full kitchen, and any cooking is done on the fire pit. The meadow also has a picnic bench. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Parking is on site for two cars. The huts stand in a field, so wellington boots may be sensible after rain. The shop and pub are both 0.1 miles away, and extra camping in the meadow can be arranged with the owner. One dog is welcome, smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable.

The setup suits a family of four, or two couples who are happy to cook outdoors and walk to a pub, and who do not need a full kitchen or an indoor bathroom in the same building as the beds.
