Benjy's Cottage

Benjy's Cottage sleeps two, on a quiet lane in Burton Bradstock. The only bedroom is upstairs and has a king-size bed. The stairs are steep and winding, with an irregular tread height and width, and the eaves reduce the head height in the bedroom. This is a house to book only if everyone can manage stairs and low ceilings.

Downstairs, the lounge and dining room share one space with a fireplace and a wood burner, and logs are included from October to the end of April. A Smart TV and a selection of books, games and DVDs are provided. A step up leads to a compact kitchen with an electric hob and oven, an undercounter fridge/freezer, a microwave and a washing machine. The ground floor also has a wet room with a WC, again with reduced height in the eaves. Because of the cottage's age there are some low doorways.

The enclosed garden has a seating area, and a little-used right of way crosses it to the adjoining cottage. Parking is on the village lane, by the roadside. The beach, pubs and shop are all within 0.5 miles.

No dogs can stay here. It suits a couple who want an old cottage within walking distance of Hive Beach and the village pubs, and who are comfortable with a steep stair.
