Dormouse Cottage

Dormouse Cottage is a village cottage in Burton Bradstock with wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace dating from the 16th century. The inglenook is for display only and cannot be used. The shop and two pubs are within 100 metres. Some of the ceilings and thresholds are a little low, in keeping with the age of the building, and the front door is low too.

The kitchen has an electric oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine and a Nespresso machine, and the sitting room has a dining table for three. The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a single, and the second is reached through the first. The bathroom has a shower cubicle, basin and WC. The stairs are very steep and narrow, with one handrail, so the cottage is not suitable for elderly guests or anyone with limited mobility.

There is a patio with furniture. Parking is roadside in the village near the cottage, and the cottage sits on the road that runs through the village. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Children under six are not accepted, and smoking, barbecues and fire pits are not allowed. A good housekeeping bond is payable. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am, and the TV has limited channels. It suits a couple, with or without a dog, or two adults with one older child.
