Bramble Lodge - Netherbury

Bramble Lodge is one of four cottages in a former cider and flax mill at Netherbury, near Bridport, in a valley within reach of Beaminster. It sleeps two adults, as children are not accepted, and dogs are not allowed either.

A stable door opens into a double-aspect open-plan room on a single level, with a vaulted double-height ceiling and a Scandinavian wood burner (logs are included from October to the end of April). The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a fridge with ice-box, a microwave, a Nespresso machine and a washer/dryer. There is a Smart TV, a Bluetooth sound system and a bookshelf, and the heating is by electric panel heaters. The double bedroom has a tiled floor and an en-suite shower room.

The private garden is enclosed and lawned, with two terraces with seating and a BBQ. Beyond it, a small footbridge crosses the stream into the sloping communal gardens, which have winding paths and a butterfly meadow. The stream is unfenced. Parking is off road for 2 cars.

A pub is within 1 mile, a shop within 2 miles and the beach is 6 miles away. The cottage uses Ecover cleaning products and Faith in Nature body wash. It suits a couple who want a quiet mill setting and do not need to bring children or a dog.
