Chalk Hill View

Chalk Hill View is a three-storey lodge at Crossways, near Dorchester and close to Warmwell, laid out in reverse. The ground floor has three of the four bedrooms: two twins and a king-size with an en-suite bathroom, plus a family bathroom. The rear bedrooms have large sliding doors onto the patio. Bedrooms and living space are on different floors, so stairs are part of every day here.

The first floor is a single open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area, partly double height, with balconies on both sides and a Scandinavian-style wood burner. The kitchen has electric ovens and a hob, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a wine cooler, and there is a Smart TV. The top floor has a mezzanine landing with two desk areas and the last king-size bedroom, which has an en-suite shower room.

Outside are a patio and a balcony with outside furniture and a gas BBQ. Up to three dogs are welcome, with additional charges that may apply, and the garden is not enclosed so they need supervising. Parking is for one car beside the lodge, with other cars in the main car park. The shop and pub are 0.5 miles away and the beach is 6.5 miles.

The site has a spa with a heated outside swimming pool, a sauna and a cold plunge, plus water sports, mountain biking and fishing. Equipment hire runs between Easter and October half-term, and some sessions must be booked in advance. Pool and spa access is payable on arrival, and a refundable security deposit is paid direct to the site. The lodge suits a family or two couples sharing, sleeping eight across four bedrooms.
