Charmouth Lodge

Charmouth Lodge is a Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the centre of Charmouth. It was once part of a sail factory and later a school. The shop and pub are 0.1 miles away and the beach is 0.4 miles. Four bedrooms upstairs sleep eight: a king-size at the rear with an en-suite walk-in shower, and a king-size and two twins at the front. The family bathroom has a bath and a separate shower cubicle.

The lounge has an open fire. Logs for the fire are bought locally. The kitchen has a dual-fuel range cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer, and the dining room has a cupboard of games. There is a smart TV with WiFi. The ornate staircase cannot take a stairgate, though a gate is supplied for the landing doorway to separate the two twin rooms. The steps to the ground-floor cloakroom have limited headroom.

At the back, a walled and enclosed garden has a covered veranda and furniture, and the house backs onto playing fields with a children's playground via a private road. Off-road parking takes two cars, or one large vehicle so that neighbours keep access. One well-behaved dog is welcome, smoking is not allowed and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits two families or a larger group who want a village-centre base.
