Shores Reach

With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, Shores Reach takes up to eight people in a gated complex of converted farm buildings in Charmouth. The village amenities and the beach are a short stroll away, and the complex has 16 properties and ample parking on site. Stag and hen parties are not permitted.

The ground floor has an open-plan lounge and dining area with a TV and DVD and French doors to a patio with garden furniture. The kitchen has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge and freezer and a washer/dryer. On this floor too are a twin bedroom, whose zip-and-link beds can be made up as a super-king-size if you ask when booking, and a wet room with a WC.

Upstairs is a king-size bedroom with a TV and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC, and the low sloping ceiling in this room is worth knowing about. Two more twin rooms share a first-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Guests can use the covered, heated outdoor pool at the neighbouring holiday park, which is open on set dates through the season. The park also has a coffee shop and a shared children's play area. The health club there, with a gym, an indoor pool, a sauna and a steam room, is for over 18s at an additional charge. Club Wi-Fi costs extra, the cot has no mattress, and stairgates are not provided. Short breaks are only available in off-peak weeks and arrival is between 4pm and 8pm. Electric cars cannot be charged at the property. No dogs are allowed. The house suits two families or a group of friends who want a bedroom on the ground floor.
