Clockmakers Cottage

Clockmakers Cottage stands on the edge of Chetnole, a village near Sherborne and not far from Cerne Abbas. It sits on the banks of the River Wriggle, next to the owners' home, and sleeps four in a double bedroom and a twin.

A shared drive leads to the private entrance, which has a step up to the front door. The lounge has a wood burner, a TV with a DVD player and a Juliet balcony looking over the garden, and the first basket of logs is included, with more bought from the owner. The kitchen/diner has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and its own TV, and the utility area holds a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bathroom has a bath and shower, and there is a separate WC.

Outside the kitchen, a sunny terrace looks over part of the owners' garden towards the river, with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue. Steps lead down to a second, fully enclosed garden with a lawn and flower beds. There is off-road parking for one car outside the property, by arrangement with the owner, and more off-road parking about 60 metres away.

Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The beach is 14 miles away and the shop is 3 miles, though a pub is within walking distance. The cottage suits a couple or two couples who want a riverside spot and are happy to drive for supplies.
