Damson Tree Cottage

Damson Tree Cottage in Charmouth has an open-plan living space with vaulted ceilings, beams, a kitchen, a dining table and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. A starter pack for the stove is provided, and more logs can be bought locally. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer and a Tassimo coffee machine. Oil-fired central heating, a Smart TV and WiFi are included, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels in the rent.

Three bedrooms sleep five, all on the ground floor. The double has an en-suite shower room and the twin has a view toward Lyme Cobb in the distance, with a shower room next door. The king-size bedroom is an annexe reached through its own entrance door, not through the main house, so check that suits your group before booking. It has a tea and coffee area with a fridge, and stairs lead up from the bedroom to its own shower room with a walk-in shower and skylights.

The garden is enclosed, with a raised patio and furniture. Parking is for a maximum of two cars, with the spaces at the back reached by a narrow, steep slope, and any further vehicles must park elsewhere, the nearest place being the bottom of Stonebarrow Lane. The shop is 0.8 miles away, the pub 0.9 miles and the beach 1.4 miles.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, smoking is not allowed and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. The cottage suits friends or an extended family who like having a bedroom separate from the main house, and who are happy to manage the parking limit.
