Fig Tree Cottage - Worth Matravers

Fig Tree Cottage is a mid-terrace cottage on a no-through lane in Worth Matravers, near Swanage and close to Langton Matravers. The lane leads by a path to the sea at Winspit. The pub is 100 metres from the door and the nearest shop is 2 miles away.

The cottage is entered from a hall shared with the cottage next door. Beyond it is an open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner with a flagstone floor, exposed beams and an open fire in a large inglenook, with an initial supply of logs included from November to the end of March. The lounge has a TV/DVD, an iPod dock and a Sonos sound system, and there is Wi-Fi. The kitchen has an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a coffee machine and a fridge with an ice compartment.

Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a bunk bedroom, all with reduced height in the eaves, and only under-16s may use the top bunk. The one bathroom has a shower over the bath and a WC. The cottage has a number of low beams and doorways. A travel cot and high chair are available.

A door from the lounge reaches the garden by a step. Outside, a small terrace with a high stone wall has nine steps up to an unenclosed garden area with shared access, with outdoor furniture, a lawn, and a gas BBQ on the lower terrace. Parking is in the village car park, 250 metres from the cottage, and a free permit comes with the booking. One dog is allowed, and additional charges may apply. The cottage suits a family or group of up to six who are happy with low ceilings, steps to the garden and a walk to the car, and who bring no more than one dog.
