Geodesic Dome - Dorset View

Dorset View is a geodesic dome for two adults on a 55-acre holiday park, close to Whitchurch Canonicorum. It sits in a separate meadow field with three other adults-only glamping units, behind fencing and hedging, and the booking does not take children or dogs. The meadow is adults-only but part of a wider family-friendly campsite, so sound can travel at times.

A hallway inside the door is big enough for coats and boots. Beyond it, large triangular windows let light into the main space and give rural views, with a dining area set directly in front of them. A wood burner and snug seating stand to one side, and two bags of logs are included, with further bags charged extra. The king-size bed is at the middle of the room, and there is storage space and a WC. There is no Wi-Fi.

Bathing is done outside the dome: a private, allocated shower room with WC is in the shared barn, under 50 metres away. The barn also has a kitchen shared by four glamping units, with an electric oven, hob, fridge/freezer with labelled shelves, a washing machine and a coin-operated tumble dryer. On the deck you will find a hot tub, a fire pit/BBQ, a swing chair, a small fridge and tea and coffee facilities.

Across the park is a games barn with a pool table and table tennis, and two deep unfenced fishing ponds, for which a rod licence and a fishing pass are required. The site is a Dark Sky site, so a torch and suitable footwear are needed, and noise after 10pm should be kept down. The shop is 3 miles away, the pub 2.5 miles and the beach 5 miles. The dome works for two adults who want a hot tub and a night sky, with one car to park beside it.
