Stargazer - Copse Gate

Stargazer - Copse Gate is a purpose-built shepherd's hut at Whitchurch Canonicorum, on an elevated spot along a quiet lane with views over rolling hills and pasture. It stands beside the owners' home, with privacy kept, and stepping stones lead to a covered entrance. It sleeps two.

Inside is a single studio room. The kitchen is to the left of the door and dining space to the right, with a combination microwave oven, an electric hob and a fridge with an ice compartment. A wood burner heats the room, and logs are included. There is a TV, and the double bed sits within the same room. A door at the rear leads to the shower room and WC.

At the front, a raised deck has furniture and looks out over the hills, and on a clear day you may catch a glimpse of the sea. The private hot tub is tucked beside the hut, on a lawn enclosed by hedging. Parking for two cars is off-road. Dogs are not allowed.

Cooked breakfasts made with local produce can be bought during a stay, for an additional fee, if they are arranged with the owners before arrival. The beach is 3 miles away, the shop 2 miles and the pub 1 mile, so a car helps for the beach and the shop. The hut suits a couple who want a hot tub and a wood burner more than a second room.
