George's House

George's House is a complete conversion of one of the old malthouses that belonged to the Devenish Brewery, inside the gated Kellaway Court development in the Brewers Quay area of Weymouth. Guests reach it by external steps from the gated courtyard and come in on the first floor, straight into the open-plan living, dining and sitting area.

Four bedrooms sleep seven. On the first floor, a bedroom has a single bed with a single pull-out bed. The second floor has a king-size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a super king-size that can be set up as twin beds, and another single. The bathroom has a bath, a hand-held shower and a separate shower, and a cloakroom is on the first floor. There is a small balcony at the front and an internal patio.

The kitchen has an oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer-dryer and dishwasher, and a TV, DVD and Blu-ray player and WiFi are provided. A cot is available on request, and guests bring their own cot linen. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome; smoking is not allowed.

Parking is one allocated space for a single car in an electronically gated residents' area. The pub is 30 seconds' walk, a shop 2 minutes and the harbour 3 minutes. Changeover is on Fridays, with a minimum stay of seven nights. Fayre in the Square, usually on the late May bank holiday weekend, and the Wessex Folk Festival, usually the first weekend of June, close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, with some road closures and parking restrictions. It suits a family or a group of up to seven, with dogs, who are happy to take steps and stairs.
