New Boathouse

New Boathouse is a restored cottage very close to the Old Harbour in Weymouth, and the harbour, with benches for watching the boats, is seconds away. Three floors hold a generous modern kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area, with the bedrooms on the first and second floors.

Four bedrooms sleep up to seven. Two doubles on the first floor each have an en-suite shower, basin and WC. On the second floor there is a single with a child-size pull-out bed beneath, and that room is tight when set up as a twin because the second bed impedes access. A further single completes the count. A bathroom with a bath and a separate shower is on the second floor, and there is a ground-floor cloakroom.

A patio garden with furniture sits outside and a balcony opens off the first floor. The cottage has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher, and there are a TV, a DVD player, WiFi and a selection of books. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included, and a cot is available with guests supplying their own cot linen. A pub and shop are 5 minutes away, and the beach is 10 minutes away.

Two permits for on-road parking in zones G and H are available, but spaces cannot be guaranteed. Festivals can bring road closures and parking restrictions. Arrivals are on Saturdays only. Stag, hen and similar parties are not accepted, pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. The house suits a family or group of seven, and the neighbouring Old Boathouse sleeps five more for a larger party.
