Greensands

Greensands is a five-bedroom house for ten at the end of a no-through lane in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 1 mile from Corfe Castle. Shops and a pub are also 1 mile away, and the coast is 4 miles. The ground-floor twin can be made up as a 6ft double if asked for at booking, and it has its own patio and a shower room with WC alongside. Upstairs are a double with a 5ft bed, another double, a twin and a king-size, whose zip-and-link beds can be set as twins on request. There are three bathrooms in all: one with a bath and WC, a shower room with WC, and an en-suite with a bath and separate shower.

The orangery is the main living space, with a vaulted ceiling, an oak floor and French doors to the patio. The beamed sitting room has a flagstone floor and a wood burner, with logs included from October to the end of April. The dining table has room for a meal all together, and the kitchen has a breakfast table too. The entrance hall has an upright piano, and there is a boot room with an extra fridge. The kitchen has an electric range oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer and a washing machine. Central heating, electricity and Wi-Fi are included.

The garden covers two-thirds of an acre, with lawns, patios, flower beds, a barbecue and outdoor furniture. A fenced pond, an orchard and a woodland area with a swing and Wendy house sit beyond. Off-road parking takes up to four cars. One dog is allowed, and additional charges may apply. Fireworks are strictly banned because of livestock nearby. Guests who find it hard to walk are advised to stay in the ground-floor bedroom, and guests should be able to walk 10 metres unaided to leave the house in an evacuation. It suits a large family or two families sharing. Arrival is from 5pm and departure before 10am.
