Haven Cottage

Haven Cottage is a two-bedroom cottage in Thornford, near Sherborne, with a shop and pub 500 metres away. It sleeps four, and dogs are not allowed.

A covered porch opens to a dining hall, with a cloakroom just inside the front door. The open-plan kitchen has a vaulted ceiling and large patio doors onto the garden, and it has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an ice box, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Beyond it is the snug, with a wood burner and a Smart TV. The first basket of logs is supplied from October to March. A separate WC completes the ground floor.

Upstairs are two king-size bedrooms. One has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as two singles if you ask in advance, and a family shower room with WC serves both. Outside, the enclosed garden has a patio, a lawn and a summer house with a compact fridge/freezer.

The cottage has private off-road parking for one car, with extra on-street spaces subject to availability. The beach is 22 miles away. It suits two couples, or friends, who want their own bedroom each and are content to leave the car at the cottage and walk to the pub.
