Heron Lake Cottage

Heron Lake Cottage is the four-bedroom barn conversion among the Folke cottages near Sherborne, and it sleeps eight. All four bedrooms are on the first floor, so guests climb stairs to bed.

Downstairs, the lounge, kitchen and dining area is one room with leather sofas, a wood burner, a TV with DVD and a dining table for eight. A breakfast bar in the kitchen gives a second place to eat. The kitchen has a range-style electric cooker, a microwave, an American-style fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. Patio doors lead out to the shared courtyard, and a cloakroom with WC is on the ground floor.

Upstairs are two doubles, a twin and a bunk bedroom. One double has an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a Juliette balcony. The main bathroom also has a shower over the bath. The first basket of logs for the stove is provided, and further baskets can be bought on site.

Guests at all four cottages share the grounds, with two lakes, lawns, a children's play area and an indoor heated pool. Each cottage has its own two-hour daily slot in the pool, with sole use. One dog is allowed, with additional charges, and is asked to be kept on a lead in the shared grounds. The pub and shop are 0.5 miles away and the beach is 30 miles. It suits two families sharing, with children who will use the bunk room.
