High Bullen Lodge
Single-storey Morcombelake lodge for four with deck and views
High Bullen Lodge is a timber lodge in Morcombelake, at the top of a private road that also serves the owner's house and High Bullen Cottage, seconds off the A35. The shop is 0.2 miles away and the pub is 1.4 miles. It sleeps four.
The lodge is all on one level, with a few external steps to reach it. Large windows and patio doors give panoramic views across the Dorset countryside and down to the sea, and the doors open onto a deck three metres wide. The gravel garden has seating and a view across to Golden Cap, and the owners describe its planting as sub-tropical.
Inside, the open-plan living area has a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area under a high ceiling, with a white woodburner. An initial supply of logs is provided, and fuel, power, a starter pack, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. The kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and coffee machine, and the first five Nespresso pods come with it. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite with a bath and shower. The twin has full-size adult beds, and a separate family bathroom also has a bath with a shower over.
Parking is off-road for one car. Pets are welcome. The lodge is non-smoking, gardens included. It suits two couples or a small family who want a single-level lodge with a view.
