Honeysuckle Cottage - Eype

Honeysuckle Cottage is about 300 years old and stands in Eype. It sleeps five, in two double bedrooms and a single. Because of its age, some doorways and ceilings are low and the stairs are open-tread, cottage-style, which is worth knowing before you book.

The living space is open plan, with a wood burner (logs are provided from September to the end of April) and a Smart TV with an Amazon Firestick. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a coffee machine and a fridge with an ice compartment. Four steps up from the living room reach a utility room with a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a fridge/freezer, and the single bedroom. The two doubles and the shower room are on the first floor. A welcome pack is provided.

The back door opens onto a decked area with a sofa set that seats five. Three steps lead down to a sloping lawn and a lower deck with a dining table for five, a parasol and a fire pit. Tall hedges enclose the garden, and there is a hammock. Parking is one allocated space in a private car park, a 3-minute walk away; you can stop briefly in the layby below the cottage to load and unload. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply.

The beach, a pub, a hotel serving restaurant food and small shops (in season) are all within 0.5 miles, and the supermarket is 2 miles away. The cottage suits a family of five, or friends with dogs, who are comfortable with steps and low ceilings.
