Karmacations

Karmacations is a one-bedroom retreat for two at Alton Pancras, near Dorchester, with Piddletrenthide nearby. It is a single-storey building with a private entrance reached up steps, set in 5 acres of meadow beside Japanese-style gardens that the owners share.

Inside, the decor is Japanese in style. The lounge/diner has a Smart TV, and the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a Nespresso pod machine with the first few pods included. The bedroom has a double bed, a dressing area, a work space and a second Smart TV. The shower room has a WC. Internet comes by Starlink.

The garden and tea hut are shared with the owners between 8am and 5pm and are yours alone from 5pm to 9pm. A hot tub in the garden is for guests' private use and can be freshly filled for each use. Breakfast can be taken on the private patio. CCTV covers the shared driveway, the terrace and the owners' house at all hours. Private off-road parking takes two cars, and the shop and pub are 1.5 miles away.

One dog is allowed, on a lead at all times within the grounds, and additional charges may apply. Outdoor kennels can be arranged directly with the owner. The property is not suitable for children under 5, so it suits a couple, with or without a dog, who want a quiet evening in the hot tub.
