The Coach House at Lackington Farm

The Coach House is a restored 200-year-old building at Lackington Farm, close to Piddletrenthide. The layout is inverted: both bedrooms and the shower room are on the ground floor, and the kitchen and living room are up the stairs. One bedroom has a king-size bed and the other a small double, and the shower room has a walk-in electric shower.

Upstairs, the first-floor kitchen has a Neff fan oven, an induction hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer and a Nespresso machine. The living and dining room has a table for four, a woodburning stove, a 42-inch TV with a Roku player and a radio. WiFi runs at 20mbps down and 1mbps up. Oil central heating is fitted, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. A welcome hamper is waiting, and a basket of logs is supplied, with more available from the owner for a fee.

The rear courtyard is walled, with a patio and furniture. A private driveway holds two cars, though the entrance from the country lane is 308cm wide. The owners live next door.

Pets are not accepted and smoking is not allowed. Children under 6, infants included, cannot stay, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. The pub is 0.6 miles away and the shop 4.6 miles. It suits a couple, or a couple with one older child, who are happy to climb stairs to the kitchen and living room.
