Lychgate Cottage

Lychgate Cottage is a thatched house in the village of Osmington, dating from around 1500. The sitting room has a beamed ceiling, exposed stonework and a corner sofa, with the dining area in the same room. A lower sitting room has a second television and a Wii console and leads onto a patio.

Two bedrooms take four guests, a king-size and a twin. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over and a basin, and there is a separate WC with its own basin as well as a cloakroom on the ground floor. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with a small ice compartment, a washer/dryer and a dishwasher. Heating is electric, WiFi is included, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are covered by the rent. A cot is available.

Outside there is a lawned garden at the front and a patio with furniture. Between March and October a gardener comes every two weeks and needs access to the garden. Parking is on the roads around the cottage. The path leading to the cottage is rocky and uneven and the staircase is narrow, so both matter for anyone with limited mobility. St Osmund's Church stands next door, and the village has a pub, The Sunray.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not allowed. The cottage suits two couples, or a small family with a dog, who are happy to park on the street.
