Maple

Maple is a single-storey pod in Wootton Fitzpaine, a village near Charmouth, which is 2.3 miles away. It is a country setting rather than a walk-to-the-beach one: the shop is 2.2 miles and the nearest pub 1.8 miles, so guests will want a car. One car can park off the road, and from there you walk to the pod.

Inside, the open-plan space combines a kitchen, a dining table for five and a sitting area with a sofa bed. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a fridge with an ice box and a dishwasher, and there is WiFi. A double bedroom and a twin sit alongside a shower room with a walk-in shower, so the pod sleeps five with the sofa bed in use. Gas central heating, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included.

At the front, decking with a lawned area, furniture and a fire pit looks over the countryside, and an initial supply of logs is left for the fire pit. The deck is not enclosed and is reached by steps. One well-behaved dog is welcome and smoking is not allowed. Maple can also be booked together with its neighbour, Cedar, for a party of up to nine. It suits a small family or a couple with a dog who want a quiet base.
