Mayflower Cottage

Mayflower Cottage is a four-bedroom house, remodelled by its owners, behind double wooden gates on Sherborne Lane, a pedestrian, traffic-free lane with Saxon origins in the middle of Lyme Regis. The seafront and the beach are minutes away on foot, and the shop and the pub are each 0.2 miles from the house. It sleeps eight and is let by the week only.

The rooms are spread over several levels, joined by steps and stairs. There is a ground-floor sitting room, a cinema room that doubles as a second lounge, a utility room with the washing machine, a shower room and a lower-ground-floor kitchen/diner whose bi-fold doors open to the garden. There is central heating, with underfloor heating in the kitchen. Two Smart TVs have surround sound, and there is a Bluetooth speaker, WiFi, and a selection of books and games.

Bedrooms are a double with an en-suite walk-in shower, a king-size with its own en-suite walk-in shower, another double and a bunk room. The kitchen has a range cooker with an electric oven and induction hob, a microwave, a fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, an air fryer and a bean-to-cup coffee machine, and an initial supply of beans is included.

The south-facing garden is mainly lawn, with seating areas, a gas barbecue and a covered hot tub. It is not fully enclosed and has steps and some unfenced drops, so children must be supervised at all times and it may not suit some dogs. Parking is by weekly permit for the NCP car park, with no allocated space, and you are asked to provide your vehicle registration so the permit can be arranged. Pets are welcome. Smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Bookings run for a week from a Saturday. It suits a family gathering or friends sharing, provided everyone is happy with steps.
