Monarch

Monarch is a top-floor apartment overlooking the water above the harbour in Weymouth. The double bedroom has a balcony, and the sitting room has two more. The harbour, a shop and a pub are 0.1 miles away, and the beach is 0.5 miles.

The kitchen/diner has an electric oven and hob, a microwave and a fridge/freezer, and the apartment also has a washing machine and a dishwasher. The sitting room has a Smart TV with Sky Stream available, and WiFi is included. The shower room has a walk-in shower and a heated towel rail, and heating is electric.

The stairs and the rooms need some care: there is no lift, a step leads up into the sitting room, the kitchen has limited head height, and some rooms have sloping ceilings. A courtyard at the back, on the ground floor, is shared with the other flats in the building. Fayre in the Square (usually the late May bank holiday weekend) and the Wessex Folk Festival (usually the first weekend of June) are free festivals that close the harbour and Hope Square to traffic, which can mean road closures and parking restrictions.

A parking permit for one car in Zone L is provided, though spaces are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out at 10am. There is a good housekeeping bond to pay, and pets and smoking are not allowed. It suits a couple who want balconies over the water and do not mind the climb.
