No 1 Curwens

No 1 Curwens is one of a complex of four properties at Melbury Abbas, near Shaftesbury. It sleeps two, in a single king-size bedroom upstairs. Shaftesbury town centre is within 2.7 miles, and the route is walkable along country lanes.

You come in from the private terrace into a galley kitchen, which opens on to an open-plan lounge and dining area with oak flooring and exposed beams. The wood burner has logs included, and there is a Smart TV and a DVD player. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, an air fryer, a microwave, a fridge with an ice compartment, a washing machine and a Lavassa coffee machine. A separate WC is on the ground floor. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom has a TV, exposed stonework and beams, a dormer window and a sofa, plus an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. Underfloor heating runs downstairs and radiators upstairs.

The terrace outside the kitchen door has garden furniture and a barbecue, and a private wood-fired hot tub for two with logs included. There is also an enclosed garden with seating and a charcoal BBQ, the large shared gardens, and a shared open-sided games barn with table tennis and table football. Parking is ample.

One small to medium dog is welcome. Additional cleaning charges may apply if the dog rules are not followed. Breezy Ridge Vineyard and Compton Abbas airfield are within 1.3 miles on downward footpaths. An internal door to No 2 Curwens can be opened on request when the two are booked together. Arrival is from 16:30 and departure before 10:00. It suits a couple who want a hot tub and a dog beside them.
