Log cabin for two on a smallholding, no Wi-Fi, one dog

The Lodge at Paynes Place Farm is a log cabin for two on a thirty-acre smallholding, one mile from Shaftesbury. A single step leads up to a covered veranda at the front, where there is a table and chairs and a view over the enclosed lawn and the Blackmore Vale.

The front door opens into an enclosed porch with a seating area, a table and chairs. The lounge beyond has two sofas and a TV with a DVD player. A doorway leads on to the kitchen and dining room, which has an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge with a freezer section and a washing machine. The double bedroom has an armchair, and the en-suite bathroom has a bath with a handheld shower and a WC. A fold-out single bed can be requested for a child only. It is set up in the porch behind a privacy curtain that separates it from the lounge.

The garden is enclosed, with seating, and a barbecue can be requested. Shops and pubs are 1 mile away, and the beach is an hour's drive. There is no Wi-Fi at the lodge. Electric vehicle charging is not permitted at the property.

One dog is welcome, and additional charges may apply. Indoors, the dog is restricted to the kitchen and the porch. Check-in is from 14:30 and check-out before 10:00. The lodge suits a couple who want a quiet farm stay, can do without Wi-Fi and may be bringing one dog.
