Saybrook Cottage

Saybrook Cottage is a renovated period terrace in the centre of Charmouth, spread over three floors. You enter an open-plan living space with parquet flooring and an oak staircase. The sitting area has a sofa and a gas flame-effect log burner, and the dining area sits beside it. Behind is a newly fitted galley kitchen with a dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven and microwave, which leads to a utility area with a washing machine and a fridge/freezer. A cloakroom is at the back.

On the first floor are two bedrooms: the main one has a king-size bed and a feature fireplace, and the second is a compact double. The bathroom has a freestanding bath, a large walk-in shower, a basin, a WC and a heated towel rail. A single bed sits in an open-plan room beneath the eaves on the second floor, with a small desk, which brings the cottage to five guests. A cot and highchair are available.

At the rear, a patio with a picnic bench and a base for a disposable barbecue opens off the kitchen, and the garden is enclosed. Steps lead up to a lawn with more seating and views across the surrounding countryside. There is no allocated parking, but unrestricted on-street parking can be found opposite and in Higher Sea Lane. The pub is 0.1 miles away and the shop 0.2 miles.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. With a single room at the top and one bathroom, it suits a family or a small group who are happy with stairs and on-street parking.
